OVER NIGHT BUNS - submited by Patti

 

Around 7 PM Mix 1/2 CUP Warm Water and 1TSP Sugar Sprinkle with 1 Package Yeast. Let rise 10 Minutes.

Beat 4 Eggs and ¾ cup sugar 2 Tsps  Salt 1/2 Cup Crisco Oil.

Add 2 1/2Cups Warm Water, Stir in Yeast Add TO Water mixture Add I0 to 11 Cups of Flour to make a medium Dough.

Let rise until 8pm Punch down.

Let rise until 9pm Punch down

Let rise until 10pm Punch down

Make into Buns Set into Pans

Let rise over night

Bake @400F for about 12 minutes in the morning



Moms Buns - Submitted by Patti

  

Mix:

2 cups Warm Water

¼ cup Sugar

2 tbls Yeast

Allow too set 15 Minutes

Then add 2 beaten eggs to Yeast mixture. Combine with first mixture add enough Flour to make soft dough (about 10 Cups)

Allow too rise 15 minutes. Punch down and do this 3 times.

Shape dough and place into Pans

Let rise until double in bulk.

Bake @ 350F for 30 Minutes


Yorkshire Pudding - Submitted by Patti

 

1/2 cup water

1/2 cup milk

1 cup flour

2 eggs

 

You can start this several hours before if you like.

Put ingredients into blender or bowl. mix on high for several min or until well beaten.  Do this several times. ( I walk away and come back half an hour later or so during the day and beat it up again).

It is best if at room temp.  When ready to bake, Preheat oven to 425 F  , put about a tsp of oil or so into muffin tins. Place in oven until oil is very hot , almost smoking,  remove from oven add batter until tin is about 1/2 to 3/4 full.  Place back in hot oven and bake for  20 -25 min... 

 

NO PEEKING. ( THIS IS THE SECRET)

 

serve with your roast beef and gravy... yummy

 


PEANUT BLOSSOMS - Submitted by Donna

1 (8 ounce) package HERSHEY'S KISSES ® Milk Chocolates
1/2 cup shortening
3/4 cup REESE'S ® Creamy Peanut Butter
1/3 cup white sugar
1/3 cup packed light brown sugar
1 egg
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup white sugar for decoration


 Directions
1 Heat oven to 375 F. Remove wrappers from chocolate pieces.
2 Beat shortening and peanut butter in large bowl until well blended. Add
1/3 cup granulated sugar and brown sugar; beat until light and fluffy. Add
egg, milk and vanilla; beat well. Stir together flour, baking soda and salt;
gradually beat into peanut butter mixture.
3 Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll in granulated sugar; place on
ungreased cookie sheet.
4 Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until lightly browned. Immediately press a
chocolate piece into center of each cookie; cookie will crack around edges.
Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completely.

Makes 4 dozen.


Caramel Fruit Salad  - Submitted by Donna

This is an incredibly easy dessert anyone will love.  Apples and caramel
together is perfect.
Who can resist this?  Enjoy!

Ingredients:

6 granny smith apples
1 can crushed pineapples
3 snicker bars
8 oz. whipped cream

Preparation:

Chop apples up in little bite size pieces, drain pineapples, chop snickers
in bite size pieces.
Combine in a bowl and add whipped cream.
Stir enough to get whipped cream on all the fruit.
Refrigerate for 10-15 minutes and serve cool.

   Old family recipe onion bread baked to a golden brown and decorated with
   circles of onion on top.  Great for a ham sandwich.  Prep Time: approx.
30
   Minutes.  Cook Time: approx. 40 Minutes.  Original recipe makes 1 - 9x5
inch
   loaf (12 servings).  Recipe has been scaled to make 12 servings.

1 (.25 ounce) package active dry yeast
2 tablespoons white sugar
1-1/2 cups warm water (110 degrees F/45
   degrees C)
2 teaspoons salt
2 tablespoons shortening
 1 tablespoon minced onions
1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
3-1/2 cups bread flour
1/2 onion
2 tablespoons butter, melted


Directions

1.   In a large mixing bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let
stand until creamy, about
   10 minutes.

2.   Stir salt, shortening, minced onions, oregano and 2 cups bread flour
into yeast mixture. Stir
   in the remaining flour, 1/2 cup at a time, beating well after each
addition. Cover with a damp
   cloth and let rise in a warm place until doubled in volume, about 1 hour.
3.  Stir dough to deflate and place it into a lightly greased 9x5 inch loaf
pan. Cover with a
   damp cloth and let rise until the top of the dough is within 1/2 inch of
the top of the pan,
   about 40 minutes. Meanwhile, preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees
C).
4.  After loaf has risen, arrange onion slices on top of the loaf. Pour
melted butter over the
   slices and bake in preheated oven for 35 to 40 minutes, or until golden
brown. Remove from pan to
   cool on a wire rack.



Southern Fried Green Tomatoes - Submitted by Donna

1 extra large egg
4 tablespoons milk
1 cup cornmeal
1 cup all-purpose flour
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
3 green tomatoes, sliced

Directions
1.   In a small bowl whisk together egg and milk. In another small bowl mix
cornmeal and flour.
2.   Heat oil in a large skillet over medium heat; use more or less oil to
reach about 1/4 inch in depth.
3.   Dredge tomato slices first in egg mixture, then in cornmeal mixture.
Carefully place slices in hot oil and cook until browned on both sides.
